About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Business Development Team Lead to join an exciting new team within one of our businesses at CluneTech.
This is a fantastic opportunity to help build and shape a high-performing business development function while making a direct impact on business growth. In this role, you will lead, motivate and develop our business development representatives team, driving performance, fostering a culture of success and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
You will play a key role in achieving sales targets, supporting team members to deliver outstanding results and implementing best-practice sales processes. As a hands-on leader, you will coach and inspire your team, monitor performance, identify opportunities for improvement and lead by example.
This role is based in our Kilkenny office, with a requirement to work onsite a minimum of three days per week.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
Lead, motivate and support a team of business development representatives.
Set clear individual and team sales targets aligned with business objectives.
Monitor daily, weekly and monthly sales performance.
Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, performance reviews and development discussions.
Coach team members on sales techniques, call handling and objection management.
Identify training and development opportunities within the team.
Recognise and reward strong performance while providing support and guidance to team members who need improvement.
Foster a positive, collaborative and results-focused team culture.
Lead by example through active participation in sales activities and demonstrating effective sales techniques.
Sales Performance
Take ownership of team sales targets, KPIs and overall performance.
Monitor key sales metrics including calls, conversations, appointments, conversion rates, revenue and average order value.
Analyse sales performance data and identify opportunities for improvement.
Ensure leads and opportunities are effectively managed and followed up.
Support team members in converting complex or high-value opportunities.
Develop and implement strategies to improve sales conversion rates and overall revenue generation.
Prepare regular performance reports and provide updates to management.
Ensure sales activities, pipeline management and customer interactions are accurately recorded and maintained within the CRM system.
Customer Experience & Sales Quality
Ensure all customer interactions are professional, compliant and aligned with company standards.
Monitor call quality and provide constructive, actionable feedback.
Support the resolution of escalated customer issues and complaints.
Maintain high standards of data accuracy and CRM management.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to continuously improve the customer journey and sales experience.
Team Development & Operational Management
Support the recruitment, onboarding and integration of new BDR team members.
Deliver, coordinate or facilitate sales training and ongoing development programmes.
Develop and refine call scripts, sales processes and best-practice procedures.
Hold regular team meetings to communicate targets, results, achievements and business updates.
Share insights with senior management on customer feedback, market trends and emerging sales opportunities.
Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and high performance.
